Yes, I've grown to hate this word,"Anime." I hate the word so much now. I mean, why is it a word that's only used to describe the work of the Japanese? Why isn't there a word that describes the cartooning method that exists in France? England? China!? Or even Germany? Why?
It's a pretty racist word if you ask me. In fact, it's not even a style. When all the people who do cartooning in Japan don't even draw alike. How can you call it a style when no one draws alike or even has the same concepts of cartooning that Anime or Manga "Styles" portray? It's disgusting!
Anime literally is Animeeshon, which literally means,"Animated Cartoon."
Manga literally means,"Cartoon," or "Comic."
It doesn't make sense that we should use Japanese words to describe a non-existant cartooning style. It sickens me.
And don't tell me,"It's the American Definition of Anime." Well you know what? Fuck the American definition, because the Japanese are already upset that we adopted the word and are using it incorrectly. Many Japanese call cartoons like,"Family Guy" or "Futurama," Anime. And yet, we can't even see that here in America? It's so fucking stupid I tell you!
Why is Anime and Manga even considered a style?! The Japanese call it cartoons when they're here in America, and I've been told this by at least 3 Japanese people who live here. A Music Studio Receptionist, A Hair Stylist, and an Author of a freakin' Japanese to English Dictionary. And in the dictionary, I don't see anywhere where the Japanese Slang word,"Anime" refers to a cartooning style.
P.S. If Anime really meant,"Japanese Cartoons." Then it would say,"Nippon no Animeeshon."
